A break in the flow of sound, usually in the middle of a line of verse.
His hand eased from the pocket of his formal, black suit that fitted him as though it were meant for him and not rented. The tanned hand trembled slightly, like a quivering leaf hanging desperately to a tree, yet hold tightly to the small, velvety box. Smoothly, the man transitioned to down on one knee, keeping his baby blue hues on the shocked (e/c) orbs of his beloved.
In a meek voice he quoted her favorite stanza, "Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt thou the sun doth moves; Doubt that truth to be a liar,"
His other hand met the top of the soft, black box, shaking more than ever, and, ever so slowly, he pried it open. The girl before him gaped, (e/c) eyes wide, and he continued, "But never doubt I love, (Name)."
Quickly, the girl laughed, bending over and sweeping the man into a tight hug while placing small kisses along his cheek. In a voice that indicated she was near tears, she whispered, "It would be my honor, Alfie."

Prussia x Reader|Soulmate
While he was walking around , Gilbert noticed a little girl crying to herself about something.
After a few minutes of helping her calm down, he asked her what was wrong, to which she replied, "No one cares about me."
Without thinking, Gilbert immediately replies, "Of course someone cares about jou." After the child completely denied the statement, Gilbert speaks again without giving it any mind. "Vell, jour soulmate has to care about jou." Dammit, why does he keep doing this?
The girl wipes her eyes and asks very inquisitively, "What's a soulmate?"
He immediately thinks of her. Y/n.
"It's a... Vell, it's like a best friend, but more."

Sorry, I had to. I feel like this was much too serious to be an America fic, this would be better as an England, Austria, or, hell, maybe even Germany. I dunno. I feel as though Alfie would be suuper nervous if he was proposing, because even he is not that dense.
